Break hub production process

Precision Engineering for Global Heavy-Duty Applications
Our latest production video showcases the complete manufacturing process of high-performance trailer brake drums, demonstrating our commitment to quality, durability, and OEM/OEM replacement standards.

1. Key Production Stages (Video Highlights)

A. Raw Material Selection

  • High-grade cast iron (GG20/GG25) or ductile iron (QT450-10/500-7)

  • Spectrometer-verified chemical composition for optimal heat dissipation

B. Casting Process

  • Automated sand casting or centrifugal casting (depending on drum type)

  • Temperature-controlled pouring at 1,350-1,450°C

  • Real-time X-ray inspection for internal defects

C. Machining Precision

  • CNC lathe machining with ≤0.05mm tolerance

  • Inner diameter finishing: 420mm/16.5″ (standard), up to 600mm/23.6″ (custom)

  • Balanced grinding surface finish (Ra 3.2μm max)

D. Heat Treatment

  • Induction hardening (HRC 45-50) on friction surfaces

  • Stress-relief annealing to prevent warping

E. Quality Control

  • 100% dimensional inspection with CMM

  • Dynamic balance testing (≤15g·cm imbalance)

  • Salt spray test (72+ hours to ASTM B117)
